Heather leads on natural flood management within the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. She is a recognised specialist in the field and lead author of SEPA’s Natural Flood Management Handbook. She works closely with Scottish Government, Local authorities and other partners to support delivery of NFM in Scotland, including development of policy, the evidence base, social research, guidance and agri-environment. She is also actively involved with on the ground delivery through projects such as the Eddleston Water project and internationally through the EU Building with Nature Project. Prior to working with SEPA she worked with Tweed Forum and continues to work with this key delivery body in her current role.
