Environment Agency , Deputy Director, Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategy
Clare is Deputy Director for Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategy at the Environment Agency.
She is currently leading work to develop a new ambitious strategy looking out to 2050 through partnership and extensive collaboration. Clare provides leadership for flood risk on areas such as spatial planning and climate change. She chaired the Advisory Committee for the annual Flood and Coast Conference in 2017 and 2018 and steers the Environment Agency’s local, national and international engagement on FCERM.
Clare’s background is in various aspects of water management including leading the Environment Agency’s work on Abstraction Reform, producing scenario-based water demand forecasts to 2050 and 2100, water resources planning, water quality regulation and drought management.
