Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure , principal engineer
Andrew is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 12 years’ experience in the flood risk management field. He is currently the economics team lead in Capita’s water and environment team.
Having joined the industry on a Year in Industry scheme after school, his experience has ranged from Technician through to Project Manager across a broad range of projects for both public and private sector clients.
Andrew specialises in economic analysis and appraisal and he has written multiple business cases for schemes which have successfully gained FDGiA and ERDF funding for construction. He sees his role within the flood and coastal sector as providing him with a diverse, interesting and challenging workload, with rewarding outcomes when schemes are built to better protect communities, achieving good value for money and seeing investments which will improve people’s lives. Particular successes have been in the development of successful business cases for a scheme addressing multiple sources of flood risk in Egremont, Cumbria, where there is a high level of deprivation, and on the Keadby Pumping station refurbishment project which won the Environment Agency Large Project Review Groups ‘Best Business Case’ for 2019.
