Hull City Council , City Planning Manager

Alex has been the City Planning Manager at Hull City Council since 2008. Prior to this Alex worked for 6 years at the Environment Agency at both local and national levels.  He has an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management and an MA in Town and Regional Planning, and is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.  

Alex has been central to the transformation agenda across Hull and has been extensively involved with securing investment in excess of £1.5 billion to the City.  He was central to the delivery of the ‘building schools for future’ programme, regeneration in West Hull, new developments at Hull University, and the new worldwide Research & Development centre at Reckitt Benckiser.

The largest project of a marine nature he has been involved with is Greenport Hull where £310m pounds of investment was secured with Alexandra Dock.  A new quay was created and Alex worked closely with the Marine Management Organisation in navigating through the Habitats Regulations.
