Sam is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 19 years’ experience in the water sector, with 13 years at the Canal and River Trust. She started work at a consultancy designing CSOs for United Utilities. She then worked at Wakefield Council in the Land Drainage Team. She is currently the Principal Engineer for the Yorkshire and North-East Region and responsible for managing all of the infrastructure risk in the area. Sam has a team of 10 engineers and inspectors, who provide support to the Regional Director and associated stakeholders. Sam produces the 5 -year rolling investment plan and is sponsor for the regional portfolio. Sam is part of the Duty Engineer rota and is no stranger to dealing with Emergencies and urgent arising situations where infrastructure is compromised.
